After-sales revelation: Do not modify CNC busbar machine equipment parameters at will!

If you have any problems when using our factory CNC busbar machine, please first check whether it is caused by improper operation of the operator, such as releasing the foot pedal switch when the punching die falls, or modifying the equipment parameters at will. And power off the equipment for 40 seconds, restart the equipment,…

Yesterday, our busbar machine overseas market development team sat together for a sharing session, and collected and discussed the feedback and suggestions from our customers after receiving the busbar machine equipment, and finally asked our factory workshop technical engineers to iteratively optimize the CNC busbar machine equipment. In the sharing session, everyone mentioned a common after-sales problem, which was quite interesting. I will share it with you through this article, hoping that more customers will see it to avoid the recurrence of the same problem.

Problem: The punching PLC in the servo CNC busbar machine does not execute the next program and repeatedly punches in one position.

The servo CNC busbar machine manufactured by our factory adds 4 servo motors and ball screws. The PLC system uses Siemens and can store up to 50*99 sets of busbar processing parameter data, which greatly reduces the operation of repeated processing coordinate parameter input and manual verification of processing coordinates. So now more customers choose servo CNC busbar machines with servo material stoppers.

As a large number of customers choose to buy servo CNC busbar machine with servo material stoppers, our factory’s recent after-sales records have also increased. These after-sales problems have one feature: the customer factory operator arbitrarily modifies the default parameters of the equipment system.

All our servo busbar processing machines shipped are tested and debugged by our factory’s professional technical engineers to ensure the normal operation and processing accuracy of the equipment. After the customer receives the equipment, our sales team informs the customer that only our factory’s technical engineers can modify the default parameters of the equipment system. If modified at will, it will cause the busbar processing machine PLC system to fail or incompatibility.

Our Vietnamese customer placed an order in July 2024 and purchased a servo SS-50-3CNC PRO CNC busbar machine, which is mainly used for bending, punching and cutting copper busbars. In August, our Vietnamese customer received the equipment and put it into production. During the follow-up visit by our sales manager Lisa, the customer reported a problem: when the punching program executes to program 26, the next program 27 cannot be executed. The Vietnamese customer reported the problem as follows:

Problem inspection: The operator arbitrarily modifies the default parameters of the equipment system, resulting in incompatibility between the system parameters and the system original code parameters.

Immediately, our factory technical engineer and Siemens manufacturer technicians conducted remote troubleshooting through Anydesk software.

At first, we considered whether the problem was caused by improper operation of the operator. Because in our PLC program code, the operator must keep pressing the foot pedal switch until the punching die rises before releasing the foot pedal switch. This process is set by the system as a complete program execution. If the operator releases the foot pedal switch when the punching die falls and punches, the program is not fully executed at this time, which will cause problems for Vietnamese customers.

After investigation, the problem that the PLC system does not execute the next program is not caused by improper operation of the operator. Our Siemens manufacturer technicians adjusted the PLC program and tested repeatedly, but still have not found the cause.

During the final test, the customer’s technical engineer took a photo of the equipment default parameter page and sent it to us for confirmation to ensure the consistency of the factory equipment parameters and the PLC system program code parameters. As shown below:

  • Factory Settings

  • Customer Settings

We found that the parameter page data provided by the customer’s technical engineer was different from the parameter data after debugging our factory equipment, and the customer operator made adjustments. So we asked the customer’s technical engineer to set it according to the factory parameters, restore the factory settings, restart the equipment after 40 seconds of power outage, and reset the servo origin. After this series of operations, the customer’s equipment returned to normal operation, and the punching program was able to automatically execute the next program.

Finally, we successfully solved the problem of the Vietnamese customer and won the unanimous recognition of the customer. Our factory technical engineer once again emphasized to the customer’s technical engineer and its operator: Do not modify the equipment system parameters at will, and be sure to keep the factory settings.

Conclusion

If you have any problems when using our factory CNC busbar machine, please first check whether it is caused by improper operation of the operator, such as the foot pedal switch is released when the punching die falls, or the equipment parameters are modified at will. And the equipment is powered off for 40 seconds, restarted, and entered the servo setting page to reset the servo and return to the servo origin. Generally, most common problems can be solved through the above process. If it still cannot be solved, please be sure to contact our sales manager Lisa (Email: lisa@busbarmachine.co), and Lisa will coordinate our factory technical engineers and Siemens manufacturer technical engineers to conduct remote problem troubleshooting. Please do not test and adjust at will to avoid equipment damage due to improper operation, especially CNC busbar processing machines equipped with servo stop devices.
